One of our simplest means for relieving cold sensitivity is to apply what is known as a fluoride varnish to sensitive areas. Applied to dry teeth, the varnish forms a clear coating as soon as it comes in contact with your saliva. You will feel the coating on your teeth for about one day as the varnish delivers a high concentration of fluoride to your teeth. Most of our patients find relief that lasts anywhere from a few to six months.

Exposed root surfaces of teeth are especially susceptible to sensitivity. If the fluoride varnish is not enough to stop the sensitivity in these areas a simple tooth-colored bonding can be placed.
